Script for CRC or Study Team member to use if a Duke Patient tells them they would like to Opt-out of Research Contacts

OK-you would like to decline receiving research contact. I can help you with that. Let me review with you what this means. By declining research contact, it means Duke will use reasonable efforts to prevent research-related outreach. This does not apply to the use of your health information for research purposes as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices that you have received and will not prevent your healthcare providers from discussing research with you.

You will be declining contact for all research studies at Duke, not just this particular study. However if you change your mind in the future, you can always contact the Duke Research Navigators as listed in the Notice of Privacy Practices, and they can change your status.
